Nursing Science

Dr Jibril Nda Umar is a Reader (Associate Professor) and former Coordinator of Post graduate Programme, in the Department of Nursing Science, College of Health Science, University of Ilorin. He is a Registered Nurse, a Public Health Nurse, a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives, and a Fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals. He is a member of Professional/ academic and religious bodies within and outside Nigeria.

Dr Jibril N.U. has 19 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in the University and other Nursing and health-related Institutions. His areas of specialization is Public and Community Health Nursing. His research Focus is on Maternal Health and Adolescent Health Research. He has over Seventy publications in reputable journal outlets and has successfully supervised over 25 Masters dissertations, 7 Ph.D., and 8 Fellowship Theses. He has attended and participated in many sponsored studies, at national and international conferences.

Dr Jibril N.U. has served in many capacities in the university, as formal Head of the Department, Departmental Examination Coordinator, Community-based Experience and Service (COBES) Supervisor, SIWES Coordinator, and Faculty representative to many Faculties in the University. He is currently on Sabbatical Leave at Fountain University Osogbo, Osun State.
